Our Art Nouveau hotel is conveniently located in a quiet side street in the centre of town - an ideal starting point for a stroll to most of the famous sites of Vienna.

The State Opera, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Spanish Riding School and the Naschmarkt are easily reachable, as are the Kärntnerstrasse and the Mariahilferstrasse shopping streets. Many artists choose to stay in our hotel because of our close proximity to cultural sites (Museum Quarter, Secession). Throughout your stay you will certainly enjoy the special Austrian flair in our elegant Art Nouveau building.

The Carlton Opera Hotel is located only a few steps from Vienna's city centre, between the Karlsplatz and the popular Naschmarkt market area (vegetables, fruit and delicatessen market, on Saturdays also a flea market).

Vienna's elegant shopping streets, the Kärntnerstrasse and the Mariahilferstrasse, are within easy reach of the hotel.

It was a very nice surprise when we arrived and found out it was an apartment suite, with all facilities, kitchen, washing machine, iron, safe box, etc.

Location waws very convenient.

Some reception staff were very poor. Not very welcoming and rude. An
example being, we needed to check out and there was no one at reception.
We then found the receptionist having breakfast, she then became very
irritated at being disturbed. Also we got charged for using the mini bar
when we didn't, and had to argue that we hadn;t used anything. House
keeping was also poor!

The hotel is close to the underground station, ten minutes walk only. You can find a number of supermarkets along the street to underground which is convenient to buy snacks and water. There is a flea market next to the underground which opens everyday and has much to see on Sunday morning which is quite a good spot. The breakfast is very nice. Bedding & bath are clean. A safe is provided.

The room and bed is a little bit small for one person. Some stains on carpet and the lock didn't work very well but still found it safe.

We lived in the appartment where it offered kitchenette which was really helpful for a family with child. Good location, walking distance to the Opera and Horfburg. The appartment was big for 3 persons and it must be an old house even with courtyard, the room was clean and we just felt at home. Breakfast was also good.

Just not sure if such appartment should provide housekeeping service everyday. As we only got the room cleaning after hanging out the 'door knob label'.

It was a quiet hotel near the city center which did not cost a lot. The stuff was not so warm but did not create to me any problem at all. Ideal for 3-4 nights, maybe more, without spending a fortune. Breakfast was OK. Underground station 7-10 minutes on foot.

The hotel is a bit old and needs improvement. The room was very very small but I guess that is what you get for a single room. The towels had unfortunately hair on them!!!! Probably they were not well cleaned. But the room generally was not dirty.

Close from the attractions and good price. Breakfast is also very good.

The staff could be much more friendly. They always seem to be very
tense. Don't expect a friendly and warm welcome smile.

The breakfasts (only meal served) were excellent. The staff were
pleasant and efficient (but see below), the hotel was clean, quiet and
well maintained. Location is fairly good, eg about 10-15 minutes walk
from the Opera, 15 minutes to Karlsplatz and 25 minutes to the
Belvedere. Naschmark is within 5 minutes.

The bathroom attached to our room was somewhat overdue for maintenance
and renewal. Also, the room cleaning service was erratic. Some days
our in room coffee sachets and cups were not replaced, or the waste
bins emptied.

The reception staff. Male mostly as they seem to be much nicer then the female staff.

We had an apartment and it would have been better if detergent was provided and cloths.
